Utility tool to fix Windows-related errors

Fixdows is a free and open-source program for PC by an independent developer named Alexander Johansen. It is a utility tool that helps users fix some common problems that might encounter while trying to update their computers running the Windows operating system through an easy-to-use graphical user interface.

Similar to how programs like Optimizer lets you tweak and configure your Windows OS, Fixdows helps you fix errors from trying to download and install updates for it. Errors during the update process can sometimes cause issues in how some features work, and this tool helps address some of those.

How do I use Fixdows?

Fixdows has a simple UI that is easy to understand and navigate. It features a tabbed interface that corresponds to commons Windows errors and options to fix them. First is Windows Update Fixes, which resets all your update components and restart services. Next, you have Windows Store Reset that helps if you can't open or update apps from the Windows Store.

Moving on, the Integrity Checks and Fixes tab checks for corrupt or missing files that usually result when your downloads are interrupted during an update. Lastly, you have the Disk Cleanup tab to help you clean up some junk or residual files left over from updates and other apps—letting you free up storage space and improve system performance in the process.

Before using Fixdows, however, make sure you have Visual Studio 2019 or newer versions installed on your computer and .NET Developer selected in the installer. Having these requirements met will ensure that everything works properly. One important thing to take note of as well is that using this tool will remove any Group Policy settings that you may have set.
